About MathsSolve
What MathsSolve is, how it solves and checks maths, which AI models it uses, and who runs it.

MathsSolve is a maths solver that shows its working, built for students from secondary school to first-year university and for anyone brushing up on maths. Type a problem or send a photo, and it lays out every step with a short reason, checks the answer wherever a check is possible, and lets you try the next step yourself with Hints first.
How it works
- Calculators run in your browser. Equations, fractions, factoring, derivatives, integrals, matrices and more are solved by a computer algebra engine on your own device. They are free, with full steps and no daily limit.
- Answers are checked. When a problem has a definite answer, we check it a second, independent way — for example by substituting it back — and show a Verified stamp only when that check passes. How we check answers explains the methods.
- AI handles what an engine can't. Photos and screenshots, word problems and the "Ask why" explanations use AI models. We always say on screen when AI is involved, and we label answers we couldn't check.
Which AI we use
MathsSolve uses openly available AI models — currently DeepSeek V4.1 Flash and DeepSeek V4 Pro (DeepSeek), gpt-oss-120b (OpenAI's open-weight model), Mistral Small 3.2 (Mistral AI) and MiMo v2.6 (Xiaomi). We reach them through OpenRouter, which runs them on independent cloud providers in the United States and Europe, under terms that don't let them store your problems or train on them. We chose each model by testing it on real school and university problems, and we change models when a better one passes our tests.
MathsSolve is independent and is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by DeepSeek, OpenAI, Mistral AI, Xiaomi or OpenRouter.
What we promise
- No ads, whether you pay or not.
- We never sell data or use it for advertising.
- We don't store your photos.
- Free calculators stay free, with every step.
